‘Tis the season for coughs and colds

Working in the NHS I am aware of the implications a simple cough and cold can have on the elderly and vulnerable. I’m sure you have all seen the ‘coughs and sneezes spread diseases’ posters around hospitals and doctors surgeries but how much attention do you actually pay to them?

By simply catching a cough or sneeze within a disposable tissue, binning said tissue and washing hands can really help stop the spread of infection. I often laugh at a close friend of mine who carries a tube of antibacterial gel with her wherever she goes but in fact she has the right idea. We all need to be proactive this winter and help stop the spread of coughs and colds.
