Tidying up the garden with the Eco Double Wheelie Bin Cover

May 12, 2017

This is a gifted partnership

Let’s face it whilst wheelie bins are functional they aren’t exactly pleasing to the eye. Since they were rolled out by local councils, households up and down the country have had to find a place to store them. They can be somewhat of an eyesore at the front of your property so many of us opt to have them in the back garden. This leads to the garden looking untidy so why not invest in a wheelie bin cover to hide them away plus keep them out of the way of young children and pets.

Assembling the Eco Double Wheelie Bin Cover

Arriving in two large cardboard boxes I was pleasantly surprised to find that the main panels and doors had already been assembled – I imagined receiving a pile of wooden slats that I’d have to attach myself. The instructions included are quite basic and whilst the majority of the assembly is straightforward I would have preferred more details included.

The instructions included are quite basic and whilst the majority of the assembly is straightforward I would have preferred more details included. Mr Boo and I managed to assemble the wheelie bin cover in around 20 minutes with only a power screwdriver required.

Top Tip – Assemble on a flat surface such as a patio or decking area (it’s difficult to align things on the lawn)

Painting the Eco Double Wheelie Bin Cover

Before assembling I opted to paint our eco double wheelie bin cover in a bid to add much-needed colour to our garden (thanks to our neighbours installing a dark oak stained fence). This was not an easy task due to getting in between the slants on the doors and side panels etc. Whilst I adore the forget-me-not blue I had chosen I did get halfway and wonder why I had opted to paint over the golden wooden colour it comes in.

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…

To some the addition of a wheelie bin cover to my garden might appear unnecessary, however, to me, it is much-needed and very welcomed. Firstly, it hides away the unsightly wheelie bins that adorned my patio. I’d see them every time I looked out of the kitchen patio doors and it would look untidy and unhygienic.

Secondly, Piglet is affectionately referred to as my wild child. She is into everything, wants to explore everything and climb upon everything. Our wheelie bins are no exception and having them hidden away where she is unable to play with the wheels etc is fantastic.

The only issue we have had with the eco double wheelie bin cover is that our wheelie bins don’t have a handle that the chain can fit through. This helps lift the wheelie bin lid up high as you open the outer lid, however, ours just have a lip so Mr Boo is going to add a handle so the lid lifts up as required.
