The LEGO Batman Movie, Family BBQ and Hard Work #LittleLoves

June 23, 2017

I have not coped very well this week with the weather. I am a northerner a heart and I’m not used to all this sunshine and heat. To think I used to complain about how warm it was living by the sea, well our move inland has removed the sea breeze and it is stifling. Add to this that my trusty Dyson Humidifier developed a fault this week so I’m awaiting an exchange model to be delivered. Oh, how I miss sitting in front of the fan!

Read

I’ve been reading the news and stories from the Grenfell Tower fire. Reading a mixture of inspirational stories from the emergency services involved. How the local communities and people across the UK have reached out to offer help. Then there are the sad stories of the loss that comes from a tragedy like this – truly heartbreaking.

Watched

On Saturday we headed down to London to celebrate the release of The LEGO Batman Movie on DVD. Tigger and Mr. Boo were lucky enough to go and see this in the cinema earlier in the year and loved it. So Tigger was very excited to receive a copy to take home and enjoyed sitting me, Roo and Piglet down to enjoy the movie on Sunday morning. I can see why he loved the film so much, and listening to his giggling was so cute.

We held our first family BBQ for Father’s Day this year (although we don’t own a BBQ so was cooked in the oven and slow cooker – I’m still calling it a BBQ). With everyone out on the patio, it was lovely to have my Emma Bridgewater Hepburn Mk II Digital Radio out blasting out our favourite Spotify playlist whilst the children played.

Made

My Slimming World Pulled Pork recipe has become my signature dish so it seemed only right to make this for the BBQ. It’s so easy to prepare first thing, pop in the slow cooker and enjoy that afternoon.

Wore

Sticking with The LEGO Batman Movie theme, the children dressed up in some fantastic costumes from the movie at the event we attended. With LEGO Batman and LEGO Batgirl to choose from, they have already asked if these can be their Halloween costumes this year.

Lastly

I’m incredibly proud of Roo this week. She has been working hard at school between breakfast club revision sessions, play rehearsals, and her dance recital. Yesterday she was out at school for over 13 hours due to various commitments (all her own choice I may add). Her dedication to hard work makes me so proud.
