When I set myself the goal of reading 20 books in 2020, I have to confess that I thought it would be yet another resolution that soon fell by wayside. However, not only have I managed to read 20 books in 2020 – which I achieved before the end of April. I have somehow managed to squeeze in 20 more books for 2020.
Life in lockdown has helped with more free time as my blog work has slowed. The children are at home and life itself has slowed down to a steady stroll rather than the hustle and bustle that it normally would have. Although the truth is, I’m quite simply loving opening up my Kindle and enjoy a chapter or two whenever I get the chance. Getting lost in the storylines and connecting with the different characters. Laughing and crying alongside them as they make their journey throughout the pages.
At the beginning of the year, I set myself a target of reading 20 books in 2020. Something I have managed to achieve before the end of April – I’m really quite proud of myself. I’m enjoying setting time aside to read a chapter or two, rather than scroll mindlessly through social media or passive TV viewing.
It’s been a busy month for reading, with me ensuring that I set time aside to enjoy a chapter or two of a book. As well as opting to read when I have 10 minutes rather than scrolling through social media. Purchasing a Kindle Paperwhite last year has certainly paid dividends. However, since the lockdown measures have been introduced I have shied away from reading. The overwhelmingness of everything has left me feeling like hiding away rather than escaping into other peoples stories.
After a promising start to the year with my goal of setting time aside to read more regularly. I have to confess that February was somewhat of an overwhelming month for me. With lots of things happening in personal life which didn’t really give me the opportunity to sit down and relax with a book.
As the New Years bells were preparing to chime I set about goal planning, both for the year ahead but also more manageable monthly goals. One of the things that I really wanted to achieve this year was to read more. With the introduction of a Kindle Paperwhite which I had treated myself to at Christmas.
