Pip and Posy are best friends – they love to play, and make things, and have fun. But just occasionally they get cross or sad, and sometimes things go wrong that are beyond their control. And that’s when kindness and understanding – and a cuddle – make everything better.

Follow their highs and lows through a collection of different stories aimed at toddlers and pre-schoolers. As well as a much-loved TV series on Milkshake, Channel 5 (currently showing on weekdays at 7.45 am). Each story and TV series episode offers a gentle lesson for little ones to learn, whether it is about sharing, friendship or the importance of being kind.

Pip and Posy Books

If your children have discovered the new TV series of Pip and Posy and would like to take the fun and adventures off-screen and into the reading time you are in luck. With a collection of Pip and Posy books written by Camilla Reid and Axel Scheffler.

The idea for these books came about when my daughter was at a similar age as Pip and Posy. They are meant to reflect the emotional drama of the everyday life of toddlers – the ups and the downs, and an up (of course!) at the end. All the stories follow a similar pattern with an’ OH DEAR’ and a ‘HURRAY’ moment. I had some help from my daughter doing the drawings that are supposed to be by Pip and Posy – she also once pointed out that I had forgotten to give Posy a tail on one of the drawings in “A Snowy Day”.

Pip and Posy The Birthday Party

Pip and Posy The Birthday Party

In Pip and Posy The Birthday Party, It’s Posy’s big day and she’s delighted with Pip’s present of a beautiful toy bus. The friends have fun with the bus, then play some energetic party games and, before long, it’s time for the birthday tea. But just as Pip is carrying the magnificent birthday cake to the table, he trips over the bus and flies into the air – along with Posy’s cake! All small children will enjoy finding out what happens next – and seeing how Pip and Posy make the best of a very, very sticky situation.

A relatable story about navigating life’s minor catastrophes!

Pip and Posy The Super Scooter

In Pip and Posy and the Super Scooter, Posy snatches Pip’s scooter and tries to ride it. Unfortunately, it’s harder than it looks and she falls off, giving herself a nasty cut. Though Pip was very cross, he comes running to help Posy in her moment of need, giving her a plaster for her sore knee. Posy apologises to Pip, and together they build a sandcastle in the sandpit, where it’s nice and soft.

A charming story for the very young, with gentle lessons about being a good friend and learning to say sorry.
