From The Bookshelf // Lunch On A Pirate Ship

July 16, 2018

The majority of children will go through a fussy eating stage at some point in their childhood. Looking at the plate in front of them and deciding that actually, they don’t want to eat it. Regardless of the fact that they ate the exact same thing a few days ago. The little boy in this week’s from the bookshelf book decides just that and he’d much rather have lunch on a pirate ship.

Come with Jack on a quest for the perfect lunch – you never know who you might meet!

Lunch On A Pirate Ship

Written by Caryl Hart
Illustrated by Kristina Stephenson
Published by Simon & Schuster

Jack doesn’t want to eat his boring old lunch. He’d rather have lunch on a pirate ship! But what do pirates actually eat? Rotten fish stew – eeuuuwwww! And so begins a rollicking, imaginative adventure over the sea, through caves and into the lair of a troll before Jack decides that actually, Mum’s cooking is pretty good after all.

Lunch On A Pirate Ship // Thoughts from Tigger…

When I first started reading this book, I thought it was just going to be about pirates. However, there was a giant and a troll included too. Jack visited the different people to try to find something more delicious for his tea. But he soon realised that his Mum’s food was the best!
