Visiting Manchester I always feel as though I’m going home. The city is so welcoming and I have found memories from visiting friends here over the years. With the Blog On Conference being held at the nearby Museum of Science and Industry, staying in the city centre is a good option. This year, Manchester saw the arrival of the easyHotel Manchester, the no frills hotel from the easyJet family.
Location
Located in the Northern Quarter, this no-nonsense budget hotel in an 1800s building is 4 minutes’ walk from Manchester Piccadilly train station. Surrounded by bars and restaurants it offers a good base for anyone visiting the city. Whether you are here on business, visiting friends or just enjoying all that the city has to offer.
easyHotel Manchester – Double Room
Upon booking the room I opted for a windowless room, knowing that it would predominately be used as a base. With the fee for a room with a window so much more I wasn’t too fussed (correct at time of booking in February). However, as I checked into the room I had been allocated a room with a window which was a big bonus – I believe that most rooms now come with a window so windowless bookings are not available.
The rooms are not huge, but then this is to be expected for a no-frills budget hotel. The red brick walls, high wooden ceilings and colourful accents throughout the room make it appear much bigger.
Equipped with a double bed, TV (additional fee payable) and compact glass screened shower room. The room houses everything you need for a night away. Whilst it is not luxurious, it is clean, comfortable and ample for its purpose.
Whilst there are some wheelchair accessible rooms available the rest of the rooms are accessed by any old wooden staircase or via the lift available. This is something worth noting when booking a room and selecting the correct room for your needs. Family rooms are available which house up to 4 people.
