Creating a fun-filled nursery and playroom

April 19, 2016

A new house has given us the much-needed space that we needed as a family. The children have their own rooms, including Piglet who had been squished into our room and we were worried about what we would do once she had outgrown her crib. Thankfully her new bedroom provides ample space for her to sleep as well as enjoy as a playroom as she gets older.

Creating a fun-filled nursery and playroom

With the Aldi Specialbuys Baby and Toddler event starting this Thursday I have been looking to see what I can pick up to created a fun-filled nursery and playroom for her.

Table and Chairs

Whilst it going to be a whilst before she is able to toddle along and sit at a little table and chairs, I just love the idea of having a Blackboard Table and Chairs which are available for just £29.99 for her to get creative on, whether she is using chalks on the table top, we have got a puzzle out or she is building towers with her building blocks.

Storage

Roo’s bedroom as some wonderful floor to ceiling mirrored fitted wardrobes (perfect for a diva) which have meant we have been able to utilise her old wardrobes for Piglet’s room. Whilst they provide enough space to store her clothes, blankets and nappies etc. it doesn’t offer enough space for her toys, so the Elephant 3-Drawer Tower at just £12.99 is a great solution and it means we are able to pull out a complete drawer of Duplo for her to play with in her room or we can take it downstairs into the front room with ease.

Safety

I’m always very worried about little ones and stairs so we have always had a selection of safety gates around the home, at the top and bottom of the stairs and on the kitchen door. With Piglet’s room opening out on to the landing and within easy reach of the bathroom I want to add an addition safety gate on her bedroom door for when she is in there playing etc. The Hauck Baby Safety Gate is on offer for just £12.99 so a great time to stock up and secure the danger areas before she starts crawling.

Bookcase

A child who reads is an adult who thinks ~ Unknown

Whenever I think of books, especially children’s books I always think of the quote above. Each of my children has always had a love of books and I like to think it is because we have often sat down and read stories together. As they have grown up their bookcases are overflowing with books and I want the same thing for Piglet. The Freestanding Children’s Sling Bookcase at just £19.99 offers the chance to display favourite books so that little ones can decide upon which one we are reading today.

What else would you add to make a fun-filled nursery and playroom?

Disclosure: We received the Freestanding Children’s Sling Bookcase FOC for the purpose of review
