Towns and villages

York is surrounded by a number of quaint and picturesque towns and villages, including the nearby parishes of Bedale and Beverley. Both of these historic market towns have charming cobbled streets as well as various hidden gems in the shape of unusual local markets. Both towns are also home to many independent brands, including the likes of antiques shops and craft arcades, some of which are tucked away down hidden side streets.
