Christmas Gift Ideas for the Clueless

November 28, 2017

We are fast approaching the festive season (can you believe it). The malls are draped with Christmas decorations and the cheesy Christmas carols are being played proudly on the radio. As much as these elements ignite the Christmas spirit within, it also reminds us of the planning we have yet to do and the gifts we still need to buy. It’s a busy time of year as we’re still juggling the usual mummy duties of school runs, lunch making and sports matches as well as attending to work commitments – except this time the word ‘urgent’ is scribbled on every document and our bosses are breathing down our neck to ensure we understand the importance of meeting deadlines. Throwing Christmas planning into the chaotic mix is just not going to happen – right now, at least. Just thinking of Christmas gifts sends our stress levels through the roof and gives us mild heart palpitations. This is largely because we have not the slightest clue of what to buy for our nearest and dearest, nevermind actually fitting ‘shopping’ into our crazy schedule.

We should apologise for being yet another reminder of the fact that it’s almost December and you have not bought a single gift, but we’re not just bearing bad news (we promise) –  we’ve come with Christmas gift ideas that’ll make life all the more easier! With our useful tips, you’ll no longer have to use your very limited spare time thinking of presents for other people. We can only imagine how torturous that must be – so, from this moment on you can wipe that off your long list of things to do. Don’t worry, you can thank us later!

For the Adrenaline Junkie Friends

Paintball Voucher

There is no game as fun or as thrilling as paintball that’s why a paintball voucher is a perfect gift for anyone who loves a bit of thrill and adventure. No matter who you give this gift to, they’ll without a doubt have the time of their lives. It’s suitable for men, women and even children, so instead of giving this gift to an individual, you could get a family voucher and shower the entire family with a combined gift. It’s a great way to bond, whether it’s with friends or family, as the game requires people to work closely with a team and come up with strategic moves, together. Giving a gift such as this will definitely look like you have gone the extra mile and thought outside of the box – it will be a winner, for sure!

Quad Biking Voucher

The adrenaline junkies (we all have that one crazy friend or family member who thrives on adrenaline), love speed, open space and activities that give them a feeling of freedom. The best way to make their Christmas day is by giving them a voucher to a quad-biking adventure. Most of the quad-biking tours take place in remote areas, surrounded by peace and beauty – which will certainly put a smile on your friend’s dial.

Hiking Essentials

Adrenaline junkies are usually into hiking as it’s an adventurous, thrilling and an adrenaline pumping activity. Avid hikers are always kitted out with all the bells and whistles, to make their hiking journey a little easier. Essentials such as water bottles with a sling pouch, a backpack or a repair kit will come in handy and will be used whenever they embark on a hiking adventure – which will most likely be often.

For the Girly Girls

Jewellery

What girly girl doesn’t like jewellery gifts? In fact, every woman, even if she’s not necessarily the overly ‘girly’ type, loves jewellery. Women always need those go-to pieces for those special occasions that call for her to dress up. Although jewellery is a fairly personal thing, you can’t go wrong with simple statement pieces such as a gorgeous pair of stud earrings or a striking necklace that will go with her favourite blouse. A jewellery gift should be left for those who are a little closer to you as it’s rather personal as well as fairly sentimental.

Spa Voucher

Ah, we know how much ladies love to be pampered and this gift will certainly come at the perfect time. Like we said, December is the busiest time of the year and any women would love nothing more than to put her feet up and take a much-needed breather. Being able to do this in the lap of luxury, where she’s able to call the shots for once, would be a dream come true. She’ll certainly love you for life after this very special treat!

For the Sentimental Sally’s

Charm Bracelet

A sentimental gift is usually given to those friends or family members that you’re close to. You most likely share special memories with these people and documenting these times would mean the world to them. A creative and beautiful way to remind them of your friendship is through a charm bracelet. Each year you could add to this bracelet by buying charms that represent certain special events or memories.

Scrapbook of Memories

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so you can just imagine what an entire book of photographs would be worth – especially to your sentimental friend who sheds a tear for ‘the good ol’ days’. Personally, I think this is a rather precious way to remind your friend of all the good times and happy memories; and remember, with scrapbooking you can get those creative juices flowing! It would turn out a fun activity for you, and a heartwarming gift for her!

For the Practical Patty’s

A 2018 Diary

Practical women are always thinking of ways to make things easier, maximise their time and plan effectively for the future. They always seem to have everything under control and are rather organised. A 2018 diary will be super practical and useful to this family member or friend, especially because 2018 is just around the corner – scary thought, right? Yep, we agree.

A cookbook

Firstly, you’d have to find out if your friend or family member is even interested in cooking because if they’re not I can assure you that cookbook is going to quickly become a dust collector. However, the practical patty’s are usually eager to learn new things and like I mentioned, they love to make things easier for themselves. Perhaps gift her with a cookbook that’s made up of quick, easy recipes that only take 20 minutes to make. At the end of the day, she still needs to feed her family, or herself at least – which means this gift will come in useful, either way!
