Say it with… Coffee! – A touch of Belgian Luxury

February 1, 2018 No Comments

Coffee is undeniably a representation of culture, flavour and aromas. The new Belmio range, with its eight exquisite blends, captures all three. Presented in premium aluminium capsules that protect against oxygen, light and moisture, the Belgians, as with their chocolate, know how to take coffee to the next level.  For when only the best is good enough, Belmio delivers quality that can be savoured pod after pod.

Christmas Traditions // Mince Pies

December 1, 2017 No Comments

There are a few Christmas traditions from my own childhood that I’m eager to continue with my own children.  One of these is baking mince pies.  I can recall standing in the kitchen throughout the run-up to Christmas making batches of mince pies.  At times it seemed that we would never make enough as they seemed to disappear as soon as they came out of the oven.

Handpresso // Christmas gifts for coffee lovers

When it comes to selecting the perfect present for a friend or loved one.  The easiest way to start is to think about the things that they enjoy and love.  For some, it will be a hobby that they require a new piece of equipment for, for others, it will be something to add to their collection.  However, what about something that they do/use every day? I’m not talking about another set of smellies or the boring gift of socks and underwear.  I’m talking about the coffee that helps wake them up in the morning.  The coffee that keeps them going through the mid-afternoon slump.  The coffee that they crave whilst they are out and about but aren’t near a cafe (or in many cases, the cafe version is not up to scratch).

Can you remember when you first became aware of McDonald’s? I know I can. I was sitting watching Santa Claus the Movie in which there is a scene where the homeless boy Joe is stood staring through the window.  Fast forward a number of years to when I met and started dating Mr. Boo, who worked in one of our local McDonald’s restaurants. He worked there for around 2-3 years and became shift manager before leaving.  So you can imagine my excitement when I was invited along to the recently transformed McDonald’s Norwich Airport to see how McDonald’s has changed.

So, you’ve got a big party coming up, you’ve sorted the entertainment, the venue, sent out the invitations, decorations are ready to be put up, you know how many chairs and tables you’re going to need and you’re pretty much on top of it all. But, what about the food?

RNLI Fish Supper: Child-friendly fish suppers

September 30, 2017 No Comments

As a child I loved having a fish supper, I even went through a phase of only wanting fish fingers for me tea.  Somewhere in my teenage years I gained a food aversion to fish and would be sick if I ate it.  However, during my pregnancy with Piglet, it was one of the foods that I craved.  Thankfully it is something that I have been able to continue to enjoy since her birth.  So a fish supper is now regularly on our family meal plan.
