The summer holidays feels so long ago and our lives once again revolve around the school run. It’s been a bit of an adjustment to being back at school for us all. Between homework, school projects, clubs, and school runs etc. we aren’t quite in the groove yet.

Boo
Being at home full-time without the worry about whether I was to return to a new department is quite uplifting. I’m still in the honeymoon period and enjoying the time I have at home to be with Piglet, work on my blog and to be able to complete the school runs.
A couple of projects that I had lined up haven’t come to fruition which had left me feeling a little disheartened. I’ve decided to focus my energies elsewhere and have a couple of new projects lined up that I hope will keep me busy.
Roo
Back to school has allowed you to reconnect with friends she hadn’t seen over the summer. This has made a difference to her attitude at home and she seems much more settled. I’m still to arrange for a couple of her friends to come over for a play date so must organise this soon.
She has started swimming lessons at a small local pool. With just a couple of lessons under the belt, we’re already seeing improvement in her strength. She is enjoying the lessons which is the main thing and is happier in a smaller group.
A family trip to Butlins Minehead for the Astonishing Science Weekend really brought a smile to her face. With a couple of challenging workshops like an eye dissection, she managed to get through them and was proud of herself for doing so.
Tigger
Making the leap from Reception to Year 1 has been bigger than I recall. With an expectation for him to complete four lots of reading and maths each week as well as one project from their term challenge book, it’s been a little difficult. I can’t quite believe that he is ready for all this work, especially when he’d rather go and play after school.
The past month has thrown two main challenges at Tigger, the first during out holiday to Butlins Minehead. Opting to go swimming as a family, Tigger really pushed himself and went into the water up to his neck. Which for anyone who knows him will understand what a big deal that truly is. The second is the introduction of glasses, which he must wear for at least six hours as day. Thankfully he seems to have adjusted well to this and is happy to have them on during the day.
I can’t tell you how proud we are of Tigger for facing different challenges.
Piglet
Whilst most of the month she has been her happy, smiling self, she did, unfortunately, pick up a cold as we got back from Butlins and hasn’t been able to shift it. It has turned into a chest infection, which has led to some long nights on the sofa. She’s on the mend and back up to her old tricks of trying to escape from the safety gate.
