Stay healthy and hydrated this summer

August 5, 2017 No Comments

Summer sunshine always makes us feel better and want to get out in the garden with the family to enjoy it. Whether you’re gardening or playing a bit of sport with your kids in the mid day sun, it’s worthwhile thinking about how much fluid you’re losing. We all sweat in hot weather and when you’re outside having fun it’s easy to forget to take on board fluids.

Beamish, Yellow and Mama #LittleLoves

August 4, 2017 No Comments

Last weekend I made the trip ‘up north’ to take Roo and Tigger to stay with their Granny.  On the way, we decided to take a detour and spend the day at Beamish Museum with Jen from The Mad House. It was such a beautiful day and the perfect way to break up the six-hour drive.

Be Our Guest… Disney Beauty and the Beast doll collection

August 4, 2017 No Comments

In the small provincial town of Villeneuve, Disney’s independent Belle wants more out of life than the village can offer. But when her father is taken prisoner by Disney’s monstrous Beast, she takes his place to set him free and finds herself in the midst of a mysterious enchantment, unlike anything she could ever have imagined.

Don’t you think daisies are the friendliest flower?

August 3, 2017 No Comments

There is something special about receiving a bunch of flowers.  Whether it is a few daisies collected from the lawn and given to you by your child.  A bouquet of flowers for your birthday or anniversary.  Or even that reduced bunch that you found smiling at you in the supermarket as you hastily gathered last minute milk and bread supplies.

Keeping #HolidayMoments Alive

August 2, 2017 No Comments

Something we started a couple of years ago was sending postcards to family and friends whenever we were away visiting a theme park etc.  At the same time, we would write one for ourselves and sent it home.  Whilst this is a fun idea, it can work out costly, plus what happens to those postcards after a few or two?  Plus what about the places you go that you can’t buy a postcard for? That visit or activity may well be forgotten about as there is no record of it.

Make Your Deck Your Oasis of Peace

It’s summer and with summer come great ideas for home improvements. One of the best ideas for the summer is fixing up your patio, deck or veranda into a little piece of paradise where you can relax and not think about work problems.

Even though people believe it is very expensive, with some careful planning and budgeting, you can do it done fairly cheaply and still be happy with the results.

Fisher-Price Little People Caring for Animals Farm

The Fisher-Price Little People range was a favourite for both Roo and Tigger.  With different sets available they allow toddlers and pre-schoolers to explore different themes of play.  The Little People Caring for Animals Farm is a great example allowing children to get hands on with a play farm.  Learning different animals, the sounds etc.  But also for enabling them to understand the needs of the animals and how they can help them.

Helping to introduce your baby to the bottle

August 1, 2017 No Comments

There are many reasons why you may consider introducing your baby to a bottle. For example, you may want to start using a bottle so that you can start feeding your little one some expressed breast milk; or, know that you will need to leave your baby when returning to work, and you want to ensure they have some milk while you’re away from them.

Time to get doodling with BIC® Kids

From an early age, I can always remember sitting at the kitchen table with a handful of paper or a colouring book.  Scribbling away with the various colours to make masterpieces that my mum would hang on the fridge door with one of the many magnets on there.  My love of colouring has never really gone away, and with the arrival of my children, it is one of those activities that I am always keen to get involved in.

Food for the Family

July 31, 2017 No Comments

Food is much more than the substance we eat to give us energy. It is the essence of our lives that we consume for love and fun. A meal will bring people together and give them an opportunity to talk, laugh, cry and share their lives with the ones they love. Whether you have meals with your friends and family regularly or if it’s a rare occasion, you will still enjoy the moments they can bring.
