A Postcard From… West Lakes Village, Butlins Minehead
Last weekend we had the pleasure of staying in of the Lakeside Chalets in the West Lakes Village, Butlins Minehead. Never have I stayed somewhere where I could have happily moved my family into.

Thank the heavens it is Friday! It has been one of those weeks in the Boo Roo and Tigger Too household. With an amazing family trip to Butlins Minehead for their #WWEButlins weekend. Roo had the opportunity to celebrate her 11th birthday whilst we were there and she had such a wonderful weekend. Heading home in time to celebrate Tigger’s 7th birthday (never a good idea to have birthdays three days apart). After that it all went downhill, with all of us suffering in one way or another will illness, with Tigger being sent home from school on Thursday after being sick in his classroom (so sorry Miss M and Miss C). Add into the mix technical issues with my laptop and blog, I have simply wanted to crawl back under the duvet and hide from the world.

The clocks have gone back, the nights are drawing in and temperatures have definitely dropped.
If you’re already planning a kitchen renovation, then you might well have spent a lot of time pondering the type of bespoke cabinetry you want. From worktops and splashback materials to the appliances, you and your family will need to keep things running smoothly. You might have even started to think about lighting and wall colours. However, the one thing that can often make or break the usability of a kitchen – particularly during the winter months – is often not given nearly enough thought.
Being a parent is amazing! It’s also pretty stressful some days, especially if the little ones are throwing their food on the floor, refusing to go down for a nap, or just generally being difficult. That is why I think it’s vital that you have a space in the home that you can relax and recuperate in. A haven of tranquillity where you can come together as a family and spend some quality time. For us, this place is the living room, but getting this room right can be tricky, especially if it has to cater for multiple generations.
The Netflix Original Series Project MC2 has been a huge hit with Roo since she discovered the first series a few years ago. With part six recently making its way onto the Netflix scheduling she has already managed to binge watch the episodes. Before deciding to start back at the beginning and watch all the STEAM girls adventures.
Ever feel like the house is overrun with kids’ stuff or clutter? Dream of the oasis of an adult’s only room where you can’t stand on Lego, no creepy dolls eye-balling you and the only snacks on offer are cheese & wine?
As a parent, it is hard trying to grasp precious moments to yourself, with your partner or entertaining friends, but we know you deserve it.

Earlier this year we were invited to the screening of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Long Haul. Oh, how we giggled our way through the film. I cannot remember when we last laughed that much. Up until we had watched the film we were aware of the book series, however, hadn’t read any of them for ourselves. Arriving home we ordered the first two books, with the remaining books soon following as we enjoyed them so much.
Whilst we all enjoy music within our family, it is Roo who really takes it to a whole new level. From the moment she could talk she has been singing along to nursery rhymes, the radio in the car and nowadays Spotify on her phone. Wanting to take her singing to the next step she has been crazing us to get her a karaoke machine. However, after looking around at karaoke machines they were all quite bulky and something that would possibly only be used a handful of times before being forgotten about.
