An apple for the teacher?

Treat your teacher to an apple or maybe even a banana...

APPLETTERS® (RRP £15.99) – Beautifully presented game originally designed for younger players. Packaged in an apple-shaped clothe pouch that is both functional and eye pleasing, it contains 110 tiles.

Features three levels of play to keep children and adults of all ages entertained.  For the younger ones there is 'build a word snake', played by making a simple word using the last letter of the previous word.  The game also includes instructions for more adult play: APPLE TURNOVER™ for an extra challenge and APPLESCORE™ for word lovers who like to have fun with palindromes and semi-palindromes!

Roo and I have been test driving this game and I have to say that it has really engaged her letter sounds and spelling.  This would make a fantastic gift for her teacher as she could either chose to take it home to enjoy or keep in the classroom to share with her next class.

BANANAGRAMS® (RRP £14.99) – The original Bananagrams has been wowing the UK since its launch at the London Toy Fair in 2006. Cleverly packaged in a small portable banana-shaped pouch, the game that required no pencil, paper or board, simply unzip and off you go.

Created by a word game-obsessed family of three generations, Bananagrams is a labour of love that that has quickly become an international phenomenon. Players race against each other to build crossword grids and use all their letter tiles. There's no turn-taking to be found here—it all happens at once and it’s a race to the finish.

So why not treat your teacher to a juicy piece of fruit that will last longer than a box of chocolates.

Now don't just take my word for how wonderful these games/puzzles are...
