MUMenTUM - Week 1

I have been reading the #MUMenTUM tweets for a few now and feel I'd like to join in.

Here goes...

My current stats:
Weight: 12st 9lb
Size Top: 14
Size Bottom: 16

I had my second child nearly 10 months ago and can no longer use the 9 months on, 9 months off line.  Although I now weigh the same as I did when I fell with Tigger my pre-pregnancy weight was not great although I could fit into my size 14 trousers.

I am hoping that I can make my MUMenTUM shrink (I'm not in denial, its NEVER going to go completely). The problem I have is that I'm a fussy eater so shakes, meals sent to your door are not really an option for me. I'm trying my beast to eat healthily and hoping to find something that works for me. I need to look into motivation Cd's or possibly hypnotherapy...

Dear Bum & Tum,

Why are you so wobbly?

Dear Chocoholic,

Why even after you have eaten healthily all day do you call to me whilst I'm watching TV?

Dear will power,

Do you remember me? we were good friends once upon a time? where have you been?

Wish me luck

Filby Village Fete - 29/08

As part of my 'Last week as a SAHM' we went to the Filby Village Fete yesterday on Bank Holiday Monday.

The weather was looking like it could turn at any minute which may have put a lot of people off as it did not seem as busy as it usually is and not as many stalls and rides.

My niece came along as well as Magic Nanny and the girls seemed to enjoy themselves...

Eating cake...

There was so much jam inside Roo's doughnut and
the green icing on Charlie's cupcake made her teeth turn green!!!

Playing on the inflatable obstacle course...

Unfortunately Roo had a few problems trying to get on it

And playing on the play park (where they seemed to spend most of the afternoon)...

Tigger was very well behaved sitting in his pushchair all afternoon and still managed to find a smile for me...

Luckily the weather held out and the kiddies had fun.  i was disappointed not see as many stalls as in previous years especially charity fundraising stalls.

My last week of being a SAHM...

Well this is it... my last week of being a SAHM, not sure I'm going to adjust to the reality of working, school and childcare but I'm sure I'll get into the swing if things (eventually).

As it is my last week I thought I'd try and pack as much into the week as possible...

Monday: The Filby Fete, with Magic Nanny (MIL) and kiddies.  I'll try to take lots of pictures and let you know how much fun we had, as long as the weather holds.

Tuesday: Final shopping trip to get last bits for school, nursery and I need some new shoes for work.

Wednesday: Tigger has his nursery taster session... I'm so anxious about this, I have never left him with anyone other than close family.  I have a list of questions ready and will let you know how we get on.

Thursday: We have been invited to the opening of a new cake supplies shop that will also be doing cookie and cake decorating for the children.  Promise to take lots of pictures and see how Roo enjoyed the decorating.

Friday: Taking Roo & Tigger to the Sea Life Centre, might be our last chance for a while.  Luckily we have annual passes so a free day out.

Saturday: Tidy, tidy, tidy... final deep clean around the house, partly as I'm panicking about when I will ever have time again but mostly as my in-laws are coming tomorrow to look after the kiddies.

Sunday: My 7th wedding anniversary, so we are off out for the afternoon shopping, then off to dinner and movie.

Coming to the end...

In two short weeks I will be returning to work following my maternity leave (technically my maternity leave finished in July and I am now using up some of my annual leave entitlement).

I can't believe I have been off work for a year, I was signed off sick from the end of August last year until my maternity leave started at the end of October.  Now Tigger is nearly 10 months old and I have to leave him in childcare whilst I return three days a week.

Originally we had planned that I would only return for 3 months (so I won't have to pay back my companies maternity allowance), however, once we looked into our finances it wasn't to be.  So I am reducing my hours from 25 to 18 worked over three days (9.00am - 3.00pm).  I should count myself lucky really my managers have been really supportive in allowing me to reduce my hours and work fuller days.

My new hours will allow me to take and collect Roo to school everyday (can't believe she is starting full time, where has the time gone?).  As well as taking and collecting Tigger from childcare.  The only thorn in my side is that since Roo attended the nursery Tigger is attending they have changed their hours slightly and now open at 8.30am instead of 8.00am so now I am going to have a mad rush in the mornings (which is probably a good thing, a good kick up the butt).

My new routine will be (Mon, Wed & Fri):

7.45am - Leave home to drop Roo off at Breakfast club at 8.00am (school starts at 8.30am)
8.30am - Drop Tigger at childcare
9.00am - Start work (if I manage to get there is time)
3.00pm - Finish work
3.15pm - School Roo from school
4.00pm - Collecting Tigger from childcare

Luckily, all three places are within a 15min walking distance so I should (fingers crossed) be able to pull this off.

Just really apprehensive about returning, I need a big dose of positive thinking
