kinder by nature
When I had both of my children I had to explain why I could not use cotton wool and water when changing their bottoms (I can't stand the feel of cotton wool, it crunches under your fingers... urghhh!). As you can imagine I had the speech from several people about 'do you know what goes into baby wipes? they are very harmful to their skin' 'you're setting them up for allergies when they are older' etc etc
I really wish I had know about these wipes then so I could have taken these with me in my hospital bag.
Jackson Reece wipes are available in Herbal, Unscented and a handy 10 wipe pouch. They don't want to blind parents with science and prefer a jargon-free approach to their wipes (yay! a company who understand that we are not all scientists).
What's in the wipes?
Aloe Vera:
The extraordinary healing powers of the aloe vera plant make it an important ingredient in the Jackson Reece formula. The leaves contain a gel which has an immediate healing effect on wounds and burns. The gel acts like a protective coating on the skin and accelerates the healing process. It is also a mild anaesthetic and relieves pain and itching. It increases the flow of blood and reduces inflammation, swelling and redness.
Aloe vera is also beneficial for skin disorders such as psoriasis, acne and exzema. The gel acts as a moisturiser, removes dead cells and can reduce scarring. Aloe vera gels and sprays are also used in the relief of arthritic pain in the joints and muscles.
Tea Tree Oil:
Tea tree has a long history of traditional use. Australian aboriginals used tea tree leaves for healing skin cuts, burns, and infections by crushing the leaves and applying them to the affected area. Tea tree oil contains constituents called terpenoids, which have been found to have antiseptic and antifungal activity. Tea tree oil is commonly used as a treatment for acne, athlete's foot, dandruff and exzema.
Lavender Essential Oil:
There are many good reasons why lavender is in the Jackson Reece formula. It smells great, relaxing oil, which combats stress and has a healing effect and is useful for skin problems, wounds, insect bites and stings.
Purified Water:
We think it’s important to filter water to a high standard to kill any harmful bacteria.

The unscented packet had a great opening feature that stayed open whilst you were using them. So helpful if you only have one hand free (no more fighting with the wipe packet to get them out).
The packets are great value too with 72 wipes in each pack when most of their competitors have only 56.
The 10 wipe packet are flushable too, which is great if you happen to use a toilet with no toilet paper (we've all been there).

They fitted nicely into my handbag and were so useful to have with you.

Overall
I loved the wipes, the herbal wipes are too strong smelling for my liking (but each to there own).
I found that the herbal wipes were slightly more stretchy than the unscented but both coped very well with bowel movements. They were strong and could easily be folded to make the most out of the wipes.
The great opening and closing feature on the unscented packet made it so easy to get wipes when needed and I hope that this is something they will introduce to all their packaging.
I would recommend all mums carry a packet of the flushable wipes with them, you never know when you might need a wipe (not just for those 'oh no, there's no toilet roll' moments)
